Skins & punks is an intimate document of what it was like growing up in Britain in the 1980s. Margaret Thatcher was the prime minister, the Falklands War was raging, and unemployment and social unrest were dominating the headlines. It was a mess. Amidst all this chaos, gangs of kids in the working class suburbs went along with their lives, listening to ska and punk musik while pretending the outside world didn't exist. Gavin Watson was one of those kids. This is his story, in photographs.
